Everett, Washington

Good News Romanian Baptist Church in Everett, Washington, joined the North American Baptist Conference in July of 1993. It started as a group of 46 members seeking the Word of God. In 2003, Pastor Cornel was called to lead Good News. Shortly after arriving, Pastor Cornel realized a goal of the church was having their own building. In 2008, God’s faithful hand brought this goal to fruition.

The building process started with an impression of how helpful and healthy it would be to have their own place to worship and discover God’s Word on Sunday mornings. With this vision, they started to raise funds for the building project. The events that soon followed confirmed the plan God had for them.

In Pastor Cornel’s words, “When we found the church, the first Sunday of October was for special giving. In that service we received $16,000.00 – with only 36 members present as most of them were on vacation or out of town!! On the first Sunday of November, we received a special giving of $12,000.00. Our church choir went on a missions trip. Other Romanian Baptist Churches from Spokane, Portland, Phoenix, Chicago, Vancouver, British Columbia, and Naples, Florida, as well as a Pentecostal Church from Bothel, Washington, were more than happy to help us. We received the total financial support of around $15,000.00. So we saw God’s hand working for us everywhere we have been. Praise the LORD!!!”

Good News Romanian has seen a growth in church attendance since obtaining their new building. They presently have had almost double the amount of people coming to join in worship and gain from the teaching! Pastor Cornel describes the church of Good News Romanian Baptist as a very close family that “does a lot of things together”.

With God’s provision of this new building, Good News’s ministry opportunities have expanded. Pastor Cornel relates, “We have four new unchristian families from Everett coming and enjoying our church. We also have people from Kent, Renton, and Sammamish attending church services”.

How exciting to know that because of investors like you, God’s Kingdom work is going forth to the Romanian population of Everett, Washington! On top of this, they held a baptizing service where three new members (including Pastor Cornel’s daughter) were baptized. Over 250 people were in attendance to witness this event! Praise the Lord!

With their hearts and focus on God’s Kingdom work, those of Good News Romanian have a vision for the future of reaching out to more Romanian families in the area and to improve their quality of service. They also hope to complete the remodeling of the bathroom, kitchen, and gathering area, having already supplied blueprints for these to the city of Everett.

Pastor Cornel expresses his thoughts on the partnership God enabled CEIF to supply during the building process. In his words, “CEIF was a great help. They did a great job and helped us with a lot to enable us to get the closing done on time and to not lose the church!! I am so glad that God opened my eyes and my heart to work with the very nice people of CEIF. God bless all of you!!! Our church really appreciates God’s help first and we know without you our dream cannot be possible!!!”

The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. -1 Cor. 3:8-9
