Early in their journey to serve God, Light to the World Church rented worship space in Rancho Cordova, CA. However, it was not long before they sensed God’s call to find a more permanent home. A short time later a building came available, but it was a half hour away in Granite Bay, CA. The more they prayed about it, the clearer it became that this was where God was calling them to serve.

They knew they needed to go where the Lord was sending them. As they stepped out in faith, God provided a new place of worship and enlarged their ministry to share the light of His Gospel and love. He was calling them to be a light to the local community, a light to their people, and a light to the world.

Every Sunday before Light to the World Church begins their morning service, they invite everyone who feels God working in their heart to stand before the throne of God in prayer to petition for the needs of God’s people and for themselves.

Their morning worship services have diverse and multifaceted music and singing. During the service you will hear God’s message through the sounds of hymns sung by all members of the service, along with solos, ensemble singing, and instrumental groups. But Sunday mornings are more than just a gathering of God’s people – it is a community. Everyone gets involved, including the children.

“…as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts” – Colossians 3:16

They believe that the church and the family have a greater impact when they partner together to help children develop a faith in Jesus that lasts a lifetime. Youth and Ministry pastor Arthur Popov described it well when he said, “Our children are not the future of the church, rather we strongly believe they are the present of the church. In their early years we want them to learn how to study the Word of God and worship to the Lord. We show them how to apply it to their lives and be good stewards and disciples –  and so we invest heavily in them.”

“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

The women in the church reach out to other women and walk with them as they embark on a journey of transformation by building friendships and engaging in fellowship through classes, workshops, and shared experiences. Light to the World Church’s desire is that relationships would be at the heart of everything they do.

When reaching outside their local community, rather than trying to do a little bit in a lot of different places around the world, they choose to fully immerse themselves relationally and financially in strategic projects. They help provide food to the hungry, improve education and health care, develop micro-enterprise opportunities, equip local churches, and support Bible colleges and Christian schools.

They have partnered with three international communities: Mexico, South Sudan and Ukraine. They are coming alongside local leaders and empowering them to drive the spiritual and physical transformation efforts in their own areas. Senior Pastor Ben Kondor reflected back to a recent trip to Mexico:  “We wanted the Light that He placed in our hearts to be the true witness for Him. We enjoyed learning about the Mexican culture. We enjoyed touching people’s lives and sharing with them the Love of God. It was a life changing moment for us.” Light to the World continues to pray, asking for God to use them as a light to the local community and beyond.
