Here in the Pacific Northwest, Summer is upon us, the sun is out, which reminds us why we love living here. God is good to our region’s 30 churches, as He continually demonstrates His faithfulness to us. We are spread across five states: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Utah. Each state provides unique challenges that offer robust opportunities to spread the Gospel. What a joy to see each of our churches meet those challenges with prayer and humility.
Because we are so spread out, we have four missional initiatives that allow us to become better together.
Caring for Pastors – In addition to regular prayer gatherings and cluster lunches, through our investments with CIF, we are active in providing for our pastors’ retirement. We provide free counseling services for pastors, church staff, and their spouses through a partner organization. We are also working with each of our churches to offer sabbaticals for their pastors, so they may remain spiritually healthy.
Developing Leaders – Here in the Northwest, we long to see our churches raise up new NAB pastors, missionaries, and godly leaders. We are accomplishing this through Disciples Seminary, a partner school of Kairos University. We are committed to teaching our current and future leaders the NAB mission, values, and doctrine.
Strengthening Churches – We are actively strengthening churches of the NABNW by providing intervention, mediation, education, and financial and legal counseling for all of our churches in need. Our most significant area of strength in this regard is seeing our churches serve one another when needs arise. We truly are better together.
Multiplying Congregations – We celebrate our church plant in Utah, and we look forward to identifying our next church planter soon. As an association, we are committed to partnering with our NAB conference to plant and revitalize churches.
These missional initiatives are made possible by the partnerships we have. The NABNW is genuinely grateful for the relationship we have with CIF. In just the last two years, one of our churches was able to purchase a building, a church underwent high-cost repairs that were completed, and future building remodeling and expansion savings are being realized because of CIF. Yes, God continually demonstrates his faithfulness to us in the NABNW!
