Venue is a church in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada (population 95,000) that built its first 10,000 square-foot building in 2021 with the help of Church Investors Fund. Only three short years after they opened their first permanent space and with the help of CIF, the 800 built in faith a new building of 22,000 sq ft on a neighboring property in June of 2025.
Pastor Corey and the team had such a great experience with the CIF team, that CIF was Venue Church’s only consideration when they grew from 200 per Sunday to 800 within three years and needed to build again.
It’s not just that they couldn’t imagine not having space for more people to go to heaven, more children’s destinies to be found, more healing of the broken, more forgiving of sins, and restoration of lives; Pastor Corey firmly believed that the mission of the 200 (that built for the 800) needed to be passed along to all those who were privileged to walk into a terrific building that they had not contributed to at all.
In short, the 200 built a church for the 800, but would the 800 build a church for the others in a City still in desperate need to meet Jesus?
They day of Venue’s final service at the first building, everybody grabbed the chair they were sitting on and walked across two parking lots to the new and bigger building. It was ambitious and needed faith, but as of today (14 months later), the church has an average attendance of 1,300 on a Sunday.
The youth group has exploded, and entire unchurched families that have never been to church before are coming every single week. There are countless untold stories of Jesus redeeming the lives of people, and the ripple effect in the City of Airdrie has been astounding.
